Eurig looked towards Dante as he left, but made no attempt to stop him. It was none of his business... some might say that also went for the fight but it was causing a disturbance so he saw it as justified.
"Thank you, at least the whole thing was settled before the authorities got involved," he nodded before listening to the lady's request and reasoning. He did indeed pick up on the somber tone and took a moment to think about it after she was done talking before answering her, "I see. Well, i mainly deal with common things, however, weapons and armor are well within my scope. Tell me, what do you need? I might not be able to start now, but i will take it and see if i can't give it a go. I can hardly pass it up, i am not that heartless. I will do what i can to help you save your family."

Her second comment, where she pretty much confessed to starting it all left him a bit indifferent. It made sense to him in some way, but he still didn't approve of it fully. He'd also have to disappoint her, "well, you'd think so, wouldn't you? But nope, they'd go for the more known ones or the royal smith. I deal with the locals, but don't let that discourages you. It's more of a reputation thing... and the locals seem to like my craftsmanship regardless."

Eurig breathed a sigh of relief as they both stopped their fight. At least they were willing to listen to reason.
"Just a lover's quarrel?" Eurig asked with a raised eyebrow, clearly not buying based on the reaction of the Valkyrie. "if that's the case i'd never want to see a proper fight. But that's besides the point, i am glad you're both willing to stop the squabble. Thanks."

He then looked to the Valkyrie and nodded, "why yes i am, miss. I am a smith and metalworker. Name is Eurig Emberbore. At your service... even if we're past business hours."

The cool and clean night air was a welcome change from the normally heavy and warm around his forge as Eurig locked the door and began to wander the city on his daily night stroll. The dwarf loved his work but he couldn't stay in there forever or he'd likely pass out from a heatstroke of some kind. So taking a stroll at night where the streets were empty to clear his mind seemed like a great idea.

As he walked through the streets though, he soon realized that he wasn't alone as he heard a yell followed by roaring winds. That was not normal and without giving it much thought he ran towards to check up on it, mostly out of curiosity to who would cause such a ruckus at this hour.
What he found wasn't what he had expected, what looked like a human and a Valkyrie fighting in the street with the Valkyrie calling upon some sort of magic against the human. This wouldn't do, he didn't know who started it, but he knew who would stop it and it was either him or the local guards.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?!" He yelled as he came out from behind the wall and walked closer, "you wanna wake up the entire city? Cut it out before the guards get here."

Character Biographies / Eurig Emberbore, the Dwarven Blacksmith
« on: December 29, 2018, 01:33:32 pm »
Name: Eurig Emberbore

Nicknames/Alias: Ember

Race: Dwarf

Gender: Male

Age: 152 years

Height: 4’5”

Appearance: A short and compact man, Emberbore is a dwarf of average but above average build thanks to the amount of manual labor he has done through his life. His skin has a heavy tan from the hours spent by the forge, his hair and beard are both a strong black, and his eyes are dark brown with a slight green tint.

Personality: Eurig is a dwarf that is very passionate for his crafts. He loves working at the forge, swinging the pickaxe and looking for rare minerals and gemstones. Apart from that he is rather laid back and will happily kick back and drink with others while swapping stories from back home where he grew up.
That being said, he isn’t very fond of magic and considers it a dangerous matter to study. To him, the power of physical steel and metal beats magic any day. The magic he can kinda tolerate is the school of enchanting, but that is a far as he can stretch it.
In combat, if push comes to shove, he isn’t too bad. For one he makes his own armory and thus knows his armor and weapon from front to back. Still, he isn’t a trained warrior, so he can easily be outclassed by a properly trained one, but he’d be damned if chickened out.

Residence: Bluefield

Occupation: Blacksmith and Part-time Miner

Skillset: Being a blacksmith, a lot of Eurig’s skills lies within the realm of metals and forging. He has a good understand of how most common metals are to be handled and how to treat their ore when processing it into a workable state. This means he also knows which ones can be alloyed together if the project demands it. The other part of his skillset lies within the earth when he scours for metals and gems every other weekend. He knows what to look for and can determine gems and ore relatively well, although a professional would no doubt do a better job than him. But it is nice to sometimes be able to gather your own supply.

Magic: “Look here lad, I don’t need any fancy magics around here to make it big. All i need is me forge, ore and tools.”

Bio: Born and raised within one of the dwarven mountain cities to the north, Eurig has been living around ores and the forge from before he could even walk. He also started to work the forge from a very early age with his mother and occasionally working in the mine with his father once he got old enough to allowed down there.
Once he was 53 years old he got a proper job as an assistant for a blacksmith in Bluefield and worked to further his craft before he was able to strike out for himself. Even then, he still tried to get home to work with his father whenever time allowed it.
Eventually, around his late 90s, he was able to take the blacksmith off its former owner’s hands and he has since run it himself and loved it all the way despite the downs he has run into along the way. This is his passion and he’ll do it until he can’t do it anymore.
