Dante gives pause at the mention of a dangerous foe whipping his head around as his icy blue eyes grow wide with excitement. "Just how dangerous we talking?" He asked his curiosity piqued. "With the way you fight, you'll definitely be in need of backup. Luckily for you I'm having a half off sale for all sell-sword services and if this big bad proves to be worth my time I may even do it for free. What do you say Daybreaker, Feeling dangerous?" The crimson coated man asked before he noticed a disturbance with the boxes in the alleyway. Narrowing his eyes he swiftly pulled a crossbow from his holster and aimed it in the direction the noise originated from. He gave a glare as his rough and raspy tone belted out. "Unless you like picking elven steel out of your asshole I'd suggest you show yourself." He said half expecting a royal informant to step out into the alley.

Spelling grammar & sentence structure
The first and most important rule of Roleplay is proper spelling and sentence structure. Please make sure your posts have mostly correct spelling & grammar using capital letters and full stops. Additional grammar skills are also welcomed but the basics are all that are needed to make sure the Role play flows and is understandable.

An example of a bad post is.
Tails runs in and punches the wall.

This is far too short and isn’t even a complete sentence. Posts like this are fine from time to time but try not to make every post you do like that. Also they are un-detailed we have no idea why Tails' is doing what he’s doing and he has ignored most of the other players. If you post like this a lot chances are you won’t get many responses.

An example of a good post is.
Sonic assumed he was just being friendly and leaned on his hand looking bored. "Yeah chocolate sounds fine. Just make sure it's not too rich yeah never been real big on sweets." Sonic's eyes followed Venus as she walked in he had a small smile. "This just got a whole lot more interesting."

Notice this is a complete sentence and is structured well. From this we know what Sonic is doing why he is doing it and we are also aware that Sonic is fully alerted to the environment around him. He is even noting characters in the background he is not directly interacting with because it lets other players know you are aware of them and will warrant people to interact with you more.

Fighting
When you engage with other member in combat it is very important to respect your opponent and their decisions. You CAN NOT land hits forcefully on a character or determine the damage done that is up to the other player.

Here is an example of how to rp fight.

Forte: With that he clasped hard to his black rings as more Fire appeared, as he hurled rings of fire at Sonic while trying to dash and barrel into him yet again.

Sonic: One for being quite the show off Sonic jumped through the rings of fire sent his way striking poses after dodging through the middle of each one like a trained seal. He was careful not to touch the sides as his skin was still scorched from the last attack and it hurt like hell. Sonic zipped past the dash attack and yawns fond sitting on a rock behind forte as an attempt to mock him.

Notice the dragon’s fire did not automatically hit Sonic. He posted shooting fire and Sonic reacted with an appropriate dodge because he decided the reaction to the attack and the level of damage done to his character.

Example of how not to RP fight with another member

Shadow sped towards Robotnik and shot at him using high powered rounds. The bullets entered the doctors head killing him instantly.

You see here shadow has both forcefully made his attack hit and decided the other players level of damage was death. You do not have control over if your attacks hit another character let alone the level of damage that is left to the  player of the character being attacked. Note villains are allowed to bend these rules a little for story purposes and because they are often the target of multiple foes. This is often because the villain in question is rped by an arc host trying to give you a story.

Basic Etiquette

If you join a thread and you don't understand just ask! But please don't assume people will post or cater to you.

Be patient with this being a forum the beauty is the rp is not going anywhere. Do not pester people for replies ask them politely. People have their own things to do away from the site.

Respect other people's decisions do not badmouth another person out of character.

Rules and Guidelines / Rules
« on: February 08, 2019, 08:08:32 pm »
Please follow the rules below so that everyone can have a pleasant and fun RolePlay experience.

1. Be respectful of other members. Out of character insults, swearing, 'Trolling' or any unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated and may possibly result in a ban. (Roleplaying etiquette is greatly appreciated)

2.
Your account name must be the name of the character you are RPing as. This makes RP a lot easier whenever a person decides to join.

3. No god-modding, Metagaming or forcefully killing off another character without permission. Also try to avoid your character having knowledge of events they were not present for. Few exceptions include the most common one being the 'Arc Host'. RPers take turns in being an Arc Host to lead a story for most of the forum to participate in. Few situations are where Arc Hosts may do minor puppeting/god-modding towards other characters for story purposes only.

4. OCs are very welcome and encouraged! Please make sure to create a character biography in the "Character Biographies" section. You can choose to make it as long or as short of a description as you like. You are welcome to rp your character however you like. But expect others to do the same. Do not hassle others because their characters do not meet your style or expectations. Spotlight is all about creativity so get crazy.

5. One account per character please. If you RP as second character, create a second account. NPCs do not need one but frequently used characters do. No exceptions.

6. Shipping with characters is permitted, parties involved must be mutually okay with this.

7. You are allowed to be in multiple threads at once, just be mindful of when they take place compared to other threads you're active in. While it is highly encouraged you finish a thread it is not required. If you are in a situation that you do not find fun and can't even make an exit post simply type (ABANDONED) in bold font to show you are not pleased with the situation you've been backed into.

When her fist impacted with his cheek it seems the hunter was unphased using his hand to push her fist downwards when their conflict came to a stand-still. Dante went to retrieve his blade while shaking out his fingers due to the cold lingering the tips. When he placed his hand upon the hilt he grit his teeth and let out an annoyed groan in response to the floating woman's haughty laughter; with the ice dissipated he lifted his sword slinging it over his shoulder. "Aren't we full of ourself?" He let loose in an aggravated tone while a frown crawled over his face. It seems Dante had a rather strong dislike for the high and mighty type, a trait he wore openly on his sleeve. Seeing the dwarf talk about his skills after Daybreaker inquired he assumed she was in the market for a new weapon and would leave her to it. Starting to walk off without another word to either of them he was headed towards the city gates, presumably to return to the wilds for his next hunt.

Dante did manage a satisfied smirk however noticing the pain he caused Daybreaker as she pulled the bolts from her winged appendages. His red coattails blew in the gentle breeze behind him adding a majestic quality to his mysterious exit while his black boots stomped against the cobble stone and paved walkways of Bluehaven.

The demon hunter donned a devilish grin as sparks begun to clash between the two electrified blades; he seemed as if he was deriving some type of twisted pleasure from his clash of sword and sinew. While the frost quickly traveled up Alastor and towards his fingers Dante tore his hands away from the sword as he felt the tips of his fingers go numb and begun to turn blue at the touch of frost. Having torn his hands away he prevented himself from being fused to the sword but he looked down seeing his hands were bound together in ice that had stopped at his forearms as the spell was still crawling up the hilt of his blade; his teeth begun to chatter until he steadied them thinking of how he was thankful the spell hadn't engulfed his entire body.

Pressing ever onward Dante swung his frozen fists forward taking note that Daybreaker's hands were still firmly locked around the hilt of her blade that had bonded itself to his own meaning for the moment she was immobile, the perfect time to strike. Dante let out a fearsome roar as he slammed the thick block of ice down upon the woman's helm causing it to clang and ring out over the town as if he was bludgeoning church bells, Dante would strike at her head repeatedly hoping to cause a dent or some kind of damage; he was secretly hoping to peer behind the steel veil and gaze upon what lay beneath but for all his efforts he couldn't manage to knock her helmet loose. After numerous hard slams the crimson coated warrior had managed to free his own hands as each blow had chipped away at the ice until it crumbled allowing him movement of his hands again. Taking a swift moment he jumped back and bit off his leather gloves before blowing into his hands before rubbing them trying to bring warmth and the sensation of touch back to his fingers. After a moment he regained movement of his fingers, pulling his gloves back on he took a fighting stance ready to roll for his frozen blade and shatter the ice himself if need be; he was halted however by the hearty voice of a stocky dwarf.

He gave pause as the smith made a good point, while Dante loved to show off the more people knew about his inhuman nature the harder it would be for him to blend in in Bluehaven and since Dante liked this part of the kingdom the best he stood down placing his hands inside his coat as he called out to the one who had dared to step between them. "While I believe there's nothing better than a good fight he's got a point. Pretty thing like you with your wings and magical armor will be frowned upon causing trouble in Bluehaven. After all us mere humans fear what he don't understand." He said with a smile before turning to face the stocky smith. "Hail, think nothing of our little spat, it's merely a lovers quarrel." He said with a smirk to see if he could get under the angel's skin.

Turning around Dante's eyes caught the sword as it slid into his neck before unleashing a high voltage attack throughout his body; as the electricity surged through his veins he buckled over before returning to a standing posture smoke emanating from his form. Placing his fingers around the blade he pushed it out of his neck causing blood to **** out of the wound before it sealed itself up in an eerily unnatural fashion. From from her strike the devil hunter turned rubbing the back of his neck as if the mortal wound was but a bug bite. "Lady if stabbing me with an electrical sword is all you've got then it's game over, you could even say it happens so often I'm used to it. Since we're playing with lightning." Dante snapped his fingers causing his blade with the skull at the hilt to morph into a similar sized sword only this one had a dragon atop the hilt while the blade was surging with electrical energy.

With a swift sweep Dante rested the new devil arm atop his shoulder as he pointed towards his foe before declaring. "Let's see if you can keep up. This one has a few tricks all it's own." With that Dante vanished becoming a red blur before appearing behind Lady Day breaker tapping her on the shoulder, he vanished again as lighting surged around the sword causing him to appear before the flying maiden. It appears this sword is able to grant its wielder lightning speed which Dante had used to set up for his next attack as he swung the sword down upon her head in a cleaving motion to preform a helm breaker.

When the flying guide blocked his path Dante offered a deathly glare upon hearing she was aware of his wanted status. Normally Dante wouldn't bother with people who didn't pose a threat to humanity but she was floating there just asking for it. A devilish grin sprawled across his face as he placed his hands in his pockets causally addressing his haughty opponent. "So you figured it out, not bad; you're nothing if not perspective." Seeing as this Valkyrie had honored her word and requested a formal duel Dante decided to show some respect before they started by lightly bowing whilst making a gesture as if he was offering her his hand to start the waltz.

Looking up from his regal posture his rough and raspy voice rang out to his angelic opponent. "A dance with a beautiful floating woman on a moonlit eve, and here I was thinking tonight was going to be boring." Now the formalities were out of the way Dante reached into his coat flipping out twin crossbows one a striking white while the over was an onyx black; these firearms were known as Ebony and Ivory and were a vital part of the hunter's arsenal. Flipping the ranged weapons forward he pulled the triggers rapidly sending a barrage of bolts towards her hip mounted wings intending to pin her down. After firing off the deadly projectiles he flicked his wrist causing his oversized blade to come crashing down from the heavens only to be plucked to the sky by his gloved hands. The hunter had already formulated a plan by focusing his attack on her wings and following up with a full on assault as he stepped forward swinging Rebellion with enough force to cleave the woman in two should she not dodge or counter. Something seemed different about the devil hunter all hesitation was gone from his expression replaced with a seemingly endless excitement and lust for battle; he seemed intent on testing the limits of his gracious foe as his inner devil screamed out for carnage.

Finally back out in the streets of Bluefield he placed his hands at his hips and shrugged at her first statement. "It has way of finding it's way back to me." Before too long he knew he wouldn't be able to pay for the promised establishment so he decided to call it a night. "You're right looks like it's so late everything but that crap hole is closed." Seeing as he had prevented her from seeing the poster he turned his back towards her and headed off into the night as his crimson coattails flowed in the breeze. He raised a single hand and flicked a wave over his shoulder. "Perhaps I'll see you around. I'll need to take a rain-check for our dancing date but I'll treat you next time." He said in his raspy voice as he walked faster and faster trying to put as much distance between himself and the Siren's lapdog.

Watching the golden haired angel recoil intrigued Dante taking note of her reaction while he revealed minimal information about himself. "Oh that old thing? I've had it for as long as I can remember. Let's just say I'm in pest control and leave it at that. The bugs I deal with are oversized and noisy thus the sword's size." Having dodged the question the Devil Hunter was keen to reveal nothing about himself to this woman whom he was sure worked for the royal family. "The last thing I need is those parasites in Siren's Cenote learning of my existence, so let's play this one close to the vest."

When she raised part of her helm to reveal her lovely lips the hunter caught a glimpse of her dainty features specifically her golden lips; either she had access to some truly extravagant makeup or her lips were pillows of soft gold. Clearing his throat Dante finished his glass pouring out the rest of the bottle into his empty cup while keeping a close eye on his host. "She was looking at me like she knew me and she seems to be intent on learning more...she couldn't be...from the crown could she?" After scanning the bar the devil hunter's eyes shot open as at the far end of the bar was a wanted poster with his picture offering a five thousand gold reward; it was being offered by the ruling siren's for crimes against the royal family. The crimson coated man sprung into action in order to cover his tracks taking the Valkyrie's hand he pulled her towards the exit hoping she wouldn't glimpse the sight on way out. "A classy titled lady like yourself shouldn't be drinking here. Tell you what let's find an upscale joint to go dancing and I'll tell you everything you want."

Opening one eye Dante had to admit he was surprised he wasn't skewered through the center and pinned to the bar; when he was met with a pleasant reaction he breathed a sigh of relief finishing off his glass of wine before looking to the hand the woman before him had placed on his shoulder. "Now that I can deal with, thanks for the drink. Well it's nothing as fancy as yours but they call me Dante." When she left her hand on his shoulder longer than it took to give a comforting pat he raised an eyebrow. "Feeling a little touchy are we?" He used the back of his knuckle to lightly knock on her helm before addressing her again. "So you gunna take that off or you planning on drinking through a straw."

His eyes shot open when the sword was slammed into the bar before they fell into an annoyed glare. "Just once I'd like to meet a woman who doesn't want to shove sharp things in me." He thought to himself before he ran his gloved fingers up the side of the blade. "So you do this to all the guys you meet or just the ones you like?" He questioned before continuing on to address her own. "Well I know you enjoy the company of dashing gentlemen in red coats and are so taken aback by visage you'll be shouting me drinks all night." Dante knew this was a risky move but if he was going to have holes poked in him he was at least going to be drunk while it happened. "Hey, blondie over here said she'll be shouting me drinks all night so let's bust out the wine." He said with a cynical tone while the elven barmaid hurried over pouring two glasses of wine while wondering where this would go; she also got the glowing woman her mead while lowering her head out of respect.

The white haired man pushed the mead to one side and tapped the rim of the wine glass he pushed towards her. "Trust me unless you want to end up with your face in a chamber pot you'll drink the wine and avoid the mead. Besides you're paying for it...may as well at least have a glass." He told the Valkyrie before sipping the glass he ordered on her tab. Tasting the rich fermented fruits he set the glass down and awaited a reaction; he was ready be it flirty or wrathful.

The fair haired beauty that glided in on golden wings caught the devil hunter's eyes as she entered with all the grace of an angel; he couldn't believe something from the heavens would choose to drink here of all places. Seeing as he struck out with the barmaid it couldn't hurt to try his luck with this new patron, so he gathered up all his courage made his way to her side leaning on the bar as he decided to open up with the cheesiest pickup line he knew. "I didn't figure somebody like you would be drinking in a dump like this. Lemme just say I've never seen angel fly so low." As he brashly belted out his one-liner he offered a cheeky smile that seemed enhanced by his roguish charms. Having learned from past experiences Dante left his sword by his seat so it couldn't be used against him if things went south.

Bluefield / A Fateful Encounter
« on: December 28, 2018, 08:21:11 am »
It was a dreary night as the eerie full moon hung over the quiet town of Bluefield; the streets were empty as most were in there beds or drinking away their woes at one of the many taverns and inns the city provided to it's citizens. At a particularly wretched dive that barely passed for a bar sat a stranger in a red coat nursing a tankard of ale with a rather disgruntled look upon his face; a large sword with a screaming skull on the hilt sat against the bar while he piped up in his rough and raspy voice. "Hey, you call this a drink? This is more like warm **** than an ingestible ale. It's not even worth the silver I paid you, how about you roll over there and break out the whiskey and I won't ask for a refund." The waitress couldn't believe her long elven ears as she crossed her arms and puffed out her cheeks; however she eventually met with his demands as she couldn't afford to loose another customer as times were hard.

Pouring the fresh drink the stranger in the crimson coat smiled raising his drink to the young lass as she turned up her nose at him and left to take her break. Giving an annoyed sigh the white haired man couldn't help but lament on his terrible luck with women however he had no idea of knowing it was about to get much worse when the next female patron entered.

Introduction and Lore

Welcome to Siren Sphere a world of swords, sorcery and fantastical creatures the likes of which you've never seen. Siren's Sphere takes place in the fantasy realm of Fortuna, a medieval land blessed by magic and great prosperity. There are three prominent cities that dot the landscape each inhabited by a different species, the humans dwell to the north, the animal folk live in the woods to the east and the supernatural such as monsters and demons made their dwelling in a dark kingdom to the south. While there are often tensions between the three factions all three are kept in check by the matriarchy who rules the land of Fortuna from their vast palace in the centre of the province.

This royal family is made up entirely of sirens, the most powerful and influential magical creatures in the land; while their abilities are far beyond that of the frail humans, animal folk and most supernatural creatures, they owe their continued domination of the continent to a powerful artifact called the Siren Sphere. This magical orb greatly amplifies their powers of influence and persuasion easily allowing them to form pacts and gain the loyalty of the three neighbouring cities. This treasure has been passed down through the siren family for generations allowing these corrupt seducers to control the fate of Fortuna. The Siren Sphere only responds to siren's of noble birth and thus has ensured their rule over the land will remain absolute. While we may be forced to live in the shadow of sirens this world is ripe with gold, glory and untamed lands waiting to be explored. So what are you waiting for brave adventurer? Call your comrades and come venture fourth into the realm of Siren's Sphere.

Character Biographies / Dante The Demon Slayer
« on: December 28, 2018, 04:07:32 am »
(This is a high fantasy take on the existing Capcom character Dante)

“Though a fight every now and then does make life a little more interesting, don't ya think?” - Dante

Basic Info
Name: Dante
Alias: The Crimson Devil Hunter, Legendary Dark Knight
Occupation: Devil Hunter
Species: Demon/Human Hybrid

Appearance
Dante is a tall man with a muscular build and pale skin, he has pure white and and electric blue eyes. His hair is styled into a medium length cut that falls past his eyes complemented by his ruggedly handsome facial features. The best way to describe Dante's image is rough around the edges as his wild hair and unkempt stubble display this perfectly. The devil hunter has a taste for red trench coats and dusters usually packed to the teeth with various weapons on the inside and buckles to keep his gear in place. Under his crimson coat he sports a black collared shirt with a red belted vest over the top, his pants are a matching shade of red that complement his coat along with his black knee high combat boots. His overall appearance resembles that of a hunter or a sell-sword favouring light leather clothing usually studded or belted in places to allow for full mobility in combat.

Personality
Dante is incredibly flippant, casually mouthing off to even the most powerful of demons, and he generally enjoys showing off and taunting his adversaries as often as he can. Dante also displays a fearless, almost disinterested attitude towards incredibly dangerous situations often effortlessly shrugging off wounds such as a headshot or impalement numerous times, the latter of which happens quite frequently for the Devil Hunter.

The half human tackles life with a devil-may-care attitude that can be attributed to his playful nature. He can be serious when the situation calls for it, but still maintains an overall laid-back demeanor during tense situations, and is never without a witty taunt or comeback. Although seemingly shown at times to be uncaring or callous, Dante maintains a very strong sense of justice and prefers to fight fair, thus never fighting humans or opponents that are weaker than him. He can be counted on to do the right thing, even if he makes humorously cynical quips about it the entire time.

During his moments alone Dante is often shown to be introspective and even mopey at times, reminiscing about his past or mulling over mistakes he's made; while life has caused Dante to become quite cynical he's never one to let these feelings bring him down for too long as he's an optimist at heart who plays his unpleasant moods off as him being mysterious and stoic. Most of these unpleasant feelings are drawn from his demonic heritage, while he has displayed discomfort with his own demonic side he has put these powers to good use by focusing them into the task of eliminating the forces of the Underworld.
Dante has little qualms about accepting demons that choose the side of good and admires their desire to be human. Though Dante is quoted as believing that "Humans are often worse than demons." he refuses to kill full-blooded humans for any reason, believing it would make him no better than any Devil, be it human or demon.

In addition, Dante values family and friends very highly, not much is publicly known about his family or friends but all who have stuck by Dante long enough to call him comrade will tell you he's always watching out for them in his own seemingly nonchalant way. Dante immensely enjoys fighting, shown when he restrains himself from using his full potential but he is also quick to use full power if his opponent proves to be sufficiently powerful; Dante gets bored with fighting weak opponents and only finds entertainment in fighting strong opponents who will give him a challenge. One of the hunter's favourite pastimes is rubbing haughty supernatural creatures and nobles the wrong way as his rebellious nature has instilled a great dislike of authority in him; he gets his kicks upsetting snobs and pretentious people to the point where he'll frequently act foulmouthed in even the most formal situations.

Despite Dante's handsome appearance, he often has terrible luck with women, to the point where most he meets end up mortally wounding in some comically overzealous way; however due to his accelerated healing he's able to survive most of these unwanted attacks that he's starting to see as love taps due to their frequency. Despite his seemingly unstoppable power Dante has terrible luck when it comes to gambling or games of chance often getting cheated out of a majority of his gold because he's either too drunk to stop or because he refuses to back down. A man of many oddities another odd trait the devil hunter has is his insatiable sweet tooth, Dante enjoys a wide variety of sweets and baked goods his particular favourite being strawberry sundaes.

Equipment
Dante is a mercenary who specializes in paranormal cases, preferring those that call for demon slaying as such he's equipped himself with everything he needs to cut down hell's forces. Dante's arsenal consists of set of twin crossbows craved from ivory and yew, called Ebony and Ivory; these bows never need reloading due to an enchantment cast on the magical ore welded to the grips. In addition to his ranged weapons Dante is packing his trademark magical sword Rebellion; Rebellion is a massive claymore with a heavy double-edged blade, notched on both sides near the tip, the fearsome blade features screaming skulls at the hilt one with devil horns while the other appears human truly reflecting Dante's dual nature in it's design.

Powers and Abilities
As the son of a legendary demon knight and a human woman Dante posses a whole host of superhuman and supernatural powers making him a truly savage opponent. Dante has accelerated healing allowing him to recover from even the most severe of injuries almost instantly such as being shot in the head or impaled through the chest; while Dante seems absolutely deathless it has been noted being stabbed in the heart or causing him to surpass his pain threshold can seriously slow him down or cause him to pass out. In addition to his healing Dante possess immense demonic strength that allows him to swing oversized weapons with ease and even shatter solid stone with his fists. While his physical feats seem impressive Dante's demonic blood gives him access to various magical abilities that allow him to focus his energy into devastating attacks he channels into his weapons which were designed to handle his powers.

While he mainly uses his magic to unleash powerful swings and shots he can also use his mystical abilities to create platforms to jump off as teleport towards his foes; the full extent of the crimson devil hunter's abilities are unknown but some say he's surpassed even the king of the underworld. His full potential can be tapped into when he enters a transformation he refers to as "Devil Trigger". This is a transformation where Dante sheds his humanity and enters a savage demon form resembling a horned dark knight; In this state, Dante possesses greater strength, speed, endurance, healing, and further abilities depending on his equipped melee weapon even including flight.

Years of hunting down the damned have made Dante an expert marksman, master swordsmen and adept tracker allowing him to make crazy trick shots, preform insane feats with swords and other weapons as well as being knowledgeable on monster weaknesses and behaviour patterns that will lead him to a target or give him an edge in combat.
